The Skype you know and love has an all-new design, supercharged with lots of new features and new ways to stay connected with the people you care about most. What can I do with Skype? • Messaging made amazing: More than just text. Send photos, videos, voice messages, emoticons, Mojis and more. You can also respond to any message from your contacts with reactions. • Great for groups: Add your favourite people and start chatting. Use groups to plan together, play together, for staying in touch or just for hanging out. • Call everyone - Skype, mobiles and landlines: Free* video and voice calls make it easier to stay connected with friends and family. You’ll also enjoy low calling rates to mobiles and landlines worldwide with Skype.  • Never miss a moment with quick capture: Quickly swipe to capture photos and videos. Make them your own by adding emoticons, stickers and annotations. • Share Highlights: Keep others updated with Highlights from your day. React to any Highlights with amazing emoticons or send a private message about that Highlight. Your Highlights only stay visible for 7 days to your followers. *Skype to Skype calls are free. Operator data charges may apply. We recommend using an unlimited data plan or WiFi connection. Upgrading to the new Skype may result in the deletion of content from older conversations. To save photos and videos that were previously sent or received in an older version of Skype, save that content to your camera roll/photo gallery before upgrading to the new Skype.

  • Simply useless since the great reshuffle

Since the App’s more substantial overhaul it favours design and silly effects over usability. The worst part is that I cant use my iphone contacts any more directly. As I do NOT want to sync my contacts with the MS cloud, I have to copy and paste phone numbers, which doesnt even work either as the App tries to “help” me by doubling the country code. It’s a complete mess and I am actively searching for a replacement service. PS: Please spare me the “we are listening very hard” part, it’s obvious Skype doesn’t listen at all but pursues its “I want your data” approach ruthlessly.

  • Down the hill

What have you done to your interface? Just adding some colourful and frantically moving to UI doesn’t mean you are enhancing the user experience. Whatever changes you have made to your both, app and desktop versions are excellent examples of how not to redesign your products.
  • Terrible app now

    By Can god
“We are listening to your feedback” bullsh** since Microsoft took over this app it’s crap. The also harvest your info to suggest contacts which I find so intrusive. Skype will never be what it was ever. Ps: deleted and never to use again.

  • Ruined

Once user friendly, now, typically, ruined by Microsoft.
  • Drops calls over 3G & 4G

It’s nice to have the mobile version to use when out and about however the connection drops off if it’s not on a WiFi connection. Resolve that and get a 5.
  • Update useless

    By mand82
Since the update Skype have done away with letting us know when our contacts are online/offline properly 😠 not so happy with that, this is not a good update, least on the iPad version I can still see who’s online and who’s not, I have a friend who sets her status as “away” and it shows on the iPad version but on the iPhone version it doesn’t show people who have set their status to “away” or “busy” which should be changed us users need to know easy when our friends are away/busy/active etc
  • Lovely

Pity you can’t get minus star ‘cos this ones a -10 on the stupid scale.. New functionality sends you (without opt in or consent) Skype details of your brothers ex mrs and probably shares your info with any number of other people you probably don’t want to know.. Who cares about personal privacy - data protection or opt in with consent - look forward to seeing this one in court soon Thanks for nothing.. AVOID
  • Product has been ruined

A once great tool, now ruined. Microsoft, what have you done? I have moved most of my comms to Slack, iMessage because Skype is now disappointing. I so rarely leave app reviews but feel compelled to write registering my deep frustration that something that was once good is now very poor.
