  • Will not work with iOS 11

Will not work with iOS 11 This used to be the best iPhone satnav until Garmin ruined it!
  • Won't work !

Purchased NAVIGON North America to use on my iPad on holiday in Florida. Arrived and it won't navigate, so you can understand my frustration.... good job I had an alternative satnav app that still worked (albeit with older maps). For info, I have a standard iPad, not jailbroken, with the latest IOS software. My iPad GPS is working fine; google maps knows where it is, my older app (copilot USA) also works fine. It just seems that NAVIGON can't seem to use the GPS and so does not know its location so can't navigate. I have tried resetting my iPad, turning it off & on and leaving it running for an hour to see if it just needs time to work. It seems to me that NAVIGON just does not work & I can't trust it to get me from A to B. Not recommended.... buy another app.
  • Very unintuitive compared to Google Maps, spoken directions hit and miss

Route planning is relatively unintuitive compared to Google Maps on the iphone. Also the spoken directions have stopped working since the last update.
  • Best Nav available

This is my favourite navigation app. Very clear graphics and clear directions which is very important when navigating unknown places. I especially enjoy the phonetic pronunciation of foreign place names in an American accent; always lightens a long journey. Only gripe is having to download all of the maps and 'Essential Files' and Purchases at every update - Do Not Update if you are roaming - you'll lose the use of the app.
  • Works well, but should be much better

This is a perfectly functional turn-by-turn navigation system. Compared with Apple's iOS6 Maps application the maps are generally more accurate, there are far more points of interest, Google Street View is included, and it does not require a network connection for its basic functionality. However, there is substantial room for improvement. The application feels rather sluggish - especially when panning around or zooming maps - something which Apple's application demonstrates is not necessary. The optional urban navigation add-on is great when it works, but that is only when there is a network connection (so is not particularly useful when travelling without roaming data) and is only available for a few cities. It would be far better if it could fallback to cached public transport routes (even without full schedules) when network access is not available.
  • Beats TomTom Hands-down

I've run TomTom and Navigon Europe on my phone for a long time now. Navigon is the winner easily. Yesterday TomTom's POI list took me 5 miles past the hotel I was looking for. Navigon was bang on. It's good to look at on the screen and it's easy to use. I agree that some of TomTom's menu features are very user-friendly, but the overall package with Navigon is better. No competition in my mind, which is why I've just bought USA and Canada for my move to the States later in the year.
  • Still the best app on my iPhone!

Second time to use Navigon to get me around the DFW metroplex and parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. I won't travel in the States without it. I did notice that sometimes it seemed to take awhile to acquire satellites this trip, but as it was intermittent, I figure it probably had more to do with using an older iPhone or physical interference from the position of the phone in the car. If the app had been causing the problem, I would have expected it to happen constantly.

I navigated through cities and rural areas with aplomb on my first trip using it. This was across the NE USA and Ontario, Canada. I gave up on the rental car's Garmin in favour of my iphone, the nice lady in the phone never let me down. Reception was good even in heavily forested areas, launching was quick and turn info given with timing that suited me perfectly, with good advice about lane selection again with excellent timing. I liked the picture representations of exit ramps that often resembled the real thing perfectly (I was using the basic app with no in-app purchased add-ons). I liked this so much I have bought the British Isles edition to use at home!
  • Frustrating & disappointing

Bought this 4 a 16 day trip 2 California. Started off really well, got us 2 our hotel in LA, however as our journey continued the app either worked blindingly well or so badly we had 2 use google maps & maps buddy 2 get 2 our hotel or POI. We had several occurances of the voice telling us to 'continue on this road for 150 miles' & then within a second announces 'take a u turn now' & then within another second 'continue on this road for 150 miles'. We also had announcements as we were continuing along a very straight road ' you are in a dead end road turn around now'. It was also slow at junctions so that we didnt know if we needed 2 turn, go straight or what 2 do ( not brilliant when you are in the middle of Las Vegas)! It got 2 the point that we just didn't trust it completly so had 2 use paper maps as well as google maps & maps buddy!! Because of this parts if our trip were quite stressful Really very disappointed having spent so much money. I too emailed Navigon while this was occuring but alas still no reply! I would NOT recommend this app, get google maps & buddy, I know there is no announcement but the directions were spot on EVERYTIME!
