  • Best Mapping App

    By .Psamathe
V3.1.5 very useful additional features added in particular distance in miles and altitude in meters. This is the best iPhone mapping app. Certainly the best and clearest map rendering/display I've seen (and I've tried quite a few). Not cluttered with all the social media links and associated rubbish. Basic very clear mapping, track recording, etc. - what a mapping app should do (and it does it very well). Clearest free OSM mapping offline vector (full detail zoom yet low space requirements with very fast display) with free altitude & contours, clear track recording, route display, many ways to transfer tracks/routes to/from device, useful additional layers for outdoor activities (e.g. cycle routes), etc, etc
  • I've been looking for such a a good mapping app for a long time

    By lepkirk
The app is deceptively simple yet it has a lot of powerful features. I was initially just looking for an app that uses OpenStreetMap with offline downloads and they can take my own GPX files. It has all those features and a lot more. Creating new routes and editing existing ones is extremely simple. Very much recommended, great app.
  • Great for planning tours...

    By SoloMalee
Used this app in Iceland. Invaluable, allowed us to confidently follow cross country un-made "F Roads" and find some places we would never have seen otherwise. Would be great if it also had the ability to group / merge tracks and waypoints too.
  • Top notch mapping app with offline topographic data

    By Dosh_
I've used very many mapping apps over the years. My primary use is for cycle touring, where both offline use and topographical data are paramount. This app ticks those boxes better than anything else I have used. It's fast, smooth and intuitive. Importing and drawing your own routes and getting elevation profiles for specific sections of a route is easy. After using so many apps, I'm hard to impress but this app has really impressed me. It doesn't have as many points of interest as the OpenStreet map data used in (which lack topographical contours) but the benefit is that the offline downloads are small and fast, and you can easily download maps spanning hundreds of kilometres, something you can't do with Google maps. For planning and navigating bicycle tours in remote and mountainous areas, this is the best mapping app I have ever used.
  • Just what I'd been looking for

Finally a map app for iOS that works like it should do. You can import gpx and klm files via the dedicated email and swap these between other users in seconds. Definitely recommended so don't be put off by the cost. Worth every penny and this is the most I've ever paid for an app.
  • Utterly beautiful offline map

    By MatthewNotts
The mapping in this app is *gorgeous*. I've tried a few map apps who use Open Street Map data, and most are rather crappy. This one blows them all away. It wasn't immediately obvious how to download the map data, but it works really well. The downloads are pretty small, but incredibly detailed. Wow. There's a "Tours" feature, but little explanation about what it does. I was happy without it for months, but now I use custom waypoints to help me plan trips. MapOut has been *invaluable* when going to new places - I mark hotels, places of interest and eating places I want to visit. And (drum-roll!) to prepare for my Great Eclipse Trip to the US in August, I imported a gpx file containing the path of eclipse totality. Can any other iOS map apps do that? Beautiful beautiful offline mapping. Thanks for the app, and the regular updates! ❤️
  • Great app

    By Bunnyman69
Love using this app. I'm quite new to it but is now my map of choice for using the gpx files I create elsewhere. Top class. I use for cycling. I can't see how to change map. But the map I see is perfect anyway for my needs. Loving the detailed elevation too. I have to use now and again when I struggle to see correct route on my garmin edge 1000. This works great
  • Great mapping app

I am always looking for mapping apps for when I go cycle touring and hillwalking, this mapping app is great shows contours evening 3-D which is also very good, planning seems easy, i've not had it that long to check out all the features, so far it seems one of the best mapping apps out there! so check it out.
  • Better than ViewRanger

    By stan45
Really good app better than ViewRanger. Love the small map download size yet still plenty of detail. Really good route planner and a Apple feeling interface. Looking forward to see where the app goes next.
  • Beautiful cartography

    By priteau
This app has some of the most beautiful OpenStreetMap-based cartography I have ever seen. It is really fast and the offline downloads are small thanks to the vector maps. There are a couple of small downsides. First, the application only displays a small selection of OpenStreetMap data, so for finding bicycle parking I will continue to use another app to access OpenCycleMap. Second, the app shows only a few points of interest on screen at the same time, and the selection changes more or less randomly as you move. It can make it quite difficult to spot some points of interest!
