You don’t sound like a robot when you speak in your mother tongue (no offence to real robots reading this), so why learn French only to talk like one? We want to get you confidently speaking a language like you’ve always wanted to, not just memorising a list of words or learning sentences you’ll never use. Give us a go – your first lesson is free! LEARNING WITH BABBEL : • Made by humans – expert linguists are behind all of our courses. We keep them warm and well-fed. • Choose courses on topics you care about, and learn what matters to you. • 15 minute lessons (on average) – learn without upsetting your calendar (we know how sensitive it can be). • Progress is synced across all devices, and all content can be downloaded for offline use. So you can learn anytime and anywhere, except in your sleep (we’re still working on that technology). • Review Manager – helps you keep new vocabulary up there once you’ve learnt it. • Easy to use – simple and clear interface. • We’re also available on Apple Watch – another easy way to practice on the go. • Fantastic and fun

I love this app you can learn a language like playing a game which makes it fun. I can use it whenever I have a little spare time like commuting etc. I can also use it on my ipad, iPhone or iMac. Would recommend this to all.
  • Best language app going!

    By HigginsR
I absolutely love this app!! I am a keen linguist having studied German and Italian before and was keen to take up French. This app gives me great confidence in using the French language and I particularly like the pop up grammar explanations that are filtered in; sometimes learning grammar can be tedious if studied solidly. I love the review feature so that you don't just learn a topic and forget the vocabulary; you are constantly remained of the things you have learnt and tested. It would be great if you could request reviews on the app, rather than just waiting for them but it's hardly a fault! The range of topics is fantastic so whether you just need a little French for an upcoming holiday or plan to study to fluency, it really covers such a wide range of classes for you to pick and choose from. I really can't fault this app and very much look forward to picking up many languages with it in the future!
  • Works great

Works well for me. Got it to help my son with his French.
  • Good but few problems

    By Dr Pedler
I found it good and easy to use, however a few difficulties 1 it concentrates on using the Tu form of the verb not the Vous, ok in office and family situations but not for everyday life or vacations 2 many exercises require you to spell out the word ok for most but when you get very Long ones it becomes difficult 3 speech recogniser works badly on iPad Apart from that I am using as a refresher (GCE French 50 years ago) and works fine. Especially as French evening classes are difficult to find and expensive.
  • Beware of auto renew

    By J8dau
This app auto renews at£40. Customer service will not refund. Not good and not clear when you sign up
  • Boom

    By jboooom
The app started of well but quickly turned into literature heavy based tests!! Not what the demo leads you to believe!! I am dyslexic and learn well with visual cues but found it very frustrating to be constantly asked to just right the words with no prompts I seem to no most of the words but very rarely spell them right arrrrrggghhhh. I was hoping to use this app to help me speak a small bit of French before going on a Holliday so as to be more polite not to be able to right a novel in perfectly spelt French I will be cancelling the app and will look for another way of learning.
  • Too quick for a real beginner

    By Rico Diamond
After moving to France in May this year I saw this online with the tag line learn a whole new language in three weeks! I paid and downloaded full of hope and enthusiasm... not sure if it is because I was a total beginner but it very quickly raced ahead and I'm now totally out of my depth!!! I thought living here and learning would give me an advantage instead it feels like my confidence has been totally knocked. I've found Duolingo much better for learning the basics wish I'd stayed with that and not paid out on Babbel :-(
  • Structured learning

    By Gianna24
I am trying a 3-month subscription and after one month am very pleased with my progress. To get your money's worth you really need to put in a daily effort, but that is a large part of the point. Will definitely use Babbel again.
  • Ticks the boxes

    By MK Jan
Really pleased I subscribed to this app. Lots of opportunities to improve my spoken french as well as enough repetition to make the vocabulary stick.
  • Lovely way to learn French!

I'm in love with this course. For the first time I'm enjoying learning French. It's easy to follow and not heavy on grammar. I find very interesting that my computer corrects my pronunciation 😊.
