Venice Vaporetto is a navigation map for Venice waterbuses
Dreadful, poorly thought out app with zero functionality. Get a paper map from your hotel it will be far more useful.
Little or no functionality. I hoped it would be better if I bought the off-line content. I was better off with a paper map of the boats.
Not fit for purpose, there are better apps out there
Not fit for purpose.
Would be good if it worked but crashes every time. Don't waste your money until an iOS 7 upgrade.
Tells me in Venice that there are no trains! Right only water busses... Stalls all the time. Waist of money.
Don't drop your iPad overboard!
The maps in guide books are more useful in my opinion.
Good, up to a point
I installed this to help during a current visit to Venice. It is very useful and well worth the money. In essence it provides a detailed map of the vaporetto services tied to the GPS. This is fine, but fails to recognise that some routes are seasonal (something clearly shown on official vaporetto printed maps). It also has a point to point route planning function apparently tied to live timetables. This looks as if it should be of great value, but in practice seems to throw up very odd recommendations. I used it today in circumstances where the best route seemed to be six stops round the main island on the 4.2. It tried to send me off to Lido on the 5.1 and back to my destination on the 1. a significant detour and a change of boats. Fortunately I've not given up on common sense entirely. In summary: good, but use with some caution.
This App is excellent for taking the stress out of travelling for none Venice residents. I used it on the Ipad and knew at a glance (even without WIFI) where and when i needed to be.
