  • Good but you have to pay after a certain point

    By Random random 31
It's great for learning everyone's already said that HOWEVER you need to rack up points to move onto the next level and as you progress you earn LESS points. This effectively makes its harder to progress and harder to learn more material. I'm only on Korean 3 and need a ridiculous 80,000 points to get to the next level. As I'm not subscribed, all I can do are the Classic Reviews which give you a couple hundred points, no where near enough to get you on the next level without taking months and months and months of reviewing the exact same information over and over again. Basically the only way to progress after a certain point is to pay to unlock new ways of getting points e.g speed tests etc which aren't free.

  • Great app

Absolutely love this app, when I start with it I never get bored learning to spell in Spanish is quite useful as well.used to do Spanish at school, found a new interest in Spanish with this app. I start from the beginning every day. The only down point it's a bit expensive to get the rest of the lessons, try lowering the price.

Really good for learning. Mixed lessons from listening to writing.
  • Great.. but

The App is great, well designed and comprehensive. It could benefit from a couple of fixes/additions (i am using for Mandarin Chinese). 1. Make use of the Apple Pencil for learning how to draw Chinese characters, this will be much more effective than just looking at them. 2. If the English answer to a question has two options, and i get the order the wrong way round, this should still count as correct. 3. Use Natural Language Processing engine to listen and analyse the pronunciation of a word - the App should be able to decide whether i got the answer right or wrong, don’t leave it to personal judgement. All good other than that.

It’s brilliant with helping me learn
  • Excellent teaching style!

It’s teaching style is so much better than other leading language teaching apps... in my humblest of opinions (I’m learning Dutch.) It’s very cutesy in it’s style which might put some people off but where it counts it works well. I actually enjoy the fun feeling the app has more so. I’m quickly remembering the words it teaches more so than the phrases that Babbel threw at me early on. I think it’s the way they’ve blended the audio with the words on screen across either the language being learned or the English translation, then the screens where they give you the foreign word and you pick the English translation from a small set of choices, or vice verse. There’s audio bits where you listen to three things spoken, one of which matches the word it says at the top. All I can say is it’s absolutely worth a free download, I wouldn’t be surprised if you took up the offer that’s on right now as it pops up.
