Description

***(FEELS LIKE) SUMMER SAVINGS - ENDS THIS WEEKEND!!*** Completely overhauled, Gourmet Mobile is now a UNIVERSAL app, optimized for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices. You can add, edit, scale and import recipes...even when you’re away from your Mac. But, will it sync? Absolutely! Use your FREE Mariner Cloud cloud to sync from MacGourmet Deluxe 4. Sync Recipes, Shopping Lists, Wine Notes, Cooking Notes and My Lists. The best part is that syncing is now two-way and incremental. Add a recipe or make a simple edit on your Mac and sync just those additions or changes to your iOS device. Make a change, scale a recipe, or import a new recipe to your iOS device and sync it to your Mac. Simply put - it works both ways. We know how cooks love to share. With the cloud syncing of Gourmet Mobile, you can sync with other Macs and iOS devices. No Mac app? No problem You don’t need to have MacGourmet or MacGourmet Deluxe to use all the features of Gourmet Mobile. Find a recipe on the web and easily import it. When you’re shopping and you find that two more are joining you for dinner - don’t worry! You can scale a recipe for the number you need and then go back to the original setting. You can create shopping lists and make and edit notes. In short, you can carry your digital recipe box around with you wherever you go. Whether you are a foodie or a professional chef, Gourmet Mobile is the perfect app to help you manage and share your recipes! Other features of Gourmet Mobile include: • New UI look including themes and colors • Change font size • Adding steps to a recipe is optional • UPC scanner support • Social media sharing (pending) through Facebook and Twitter • Edit an Item, Amount, Units, and Aisles of a Shopping List • Use the Chef’s View for undistracted cooking • Email or Chat a recipe to a friend • Search the web for a new recipe and import it to add to your collection **Note: Your initial sync will sync ALL the recipes in your database to or from your device. This can be a lot of data, especially if your recipes and notes have photos. Subsequent syncs will go much faster, as they sync only the items that have changed. For your initial sync, we recommend disabling the auto lock on your device temporarily, and letting the sync complete overnight, or at another time when you are not using your device. ***Gourmet Mobile is only compatible with MacGourmet Deluxe 4.

  • Nearly great

The display is great once the recipes are loaded is great. It’s American oriented so dates are only mm/did/yy not the more chronological many others use. As others have commented the recipe websites seem limited to USA. BBC food website has a stunning range and there are many others. It really needs an imperial- metric conversion. No Beer lists in IOS - it’s on the macOS version, handy if you take your desktop shopping? With a little love this could become an essential app.
  • Most websites unsupported

This could be an amazingly useful app but it falls short by a considerable length. Virtually every website I tried to import from was unsupported. When I tried "clipping" and pasting it's a clunky, laborious process best for a rainy day when I have absolutely nothing else to do (which won't be anytime soon). I would have paid more for an app that actually functions but at the moment it's a waste of money.

Old version work much better than this........have now deleted it. Both the Mac and iPad version are useless. Does not support most websites. The old version works much ch better......
  • Currently unusable

It's a great app... when it works. Sadly it's currently unusable as it doesn't display as recipes, which funnily enough, is the entire point of a recipe manager. It's been broken for nearly a month now, with no signs of an update.
  • Seriously regret 'upgrading'!

The old Mac program worked perfectly, as did the apps on both iPhone and iPad. This isn't an upgrade, this is a backwards step. I was excited at the introduction of a cloud sync, but it simply doesn't do the job. I find stuff that I've previously deleted, reappearing days or weeks later. It also seems to have a problem converting smart lists from Mac to iPhone and iPad, as on a number of occasions my smart lists have contained my entire recipe database, rather than those specifically selected. Very disappointing!
  • Unstable

Frustrating app that keeps on crashing. Just spent (lost) 10 minutes painstakingly adding a recipe and it crashed, so everything disappeared. Money down the drain, don't bother until it is fixed.
  • Works well when it works

Love it on the Mac but I have never got this working properly. The app closes itself when trying to update recipes during sync or just randomly when in use. Once it closes itself in use it never reopens. I am just downloading it for the 20th time. But am thinking of going back to an alternative recipe package. I have reported it but no fix.

I’ve had McGourmet de Luxe on my Mac & iPad/iPhone for a long time….this update is amazing…it now automatically syncs to all devices ….I had a question about syncing problem…was hesitant to chuck the old app from my iPad/iPhone…the answer came almost straight back…it’s safe to do so…. Can recommend this…if 10 stars were available I’d give them!
