  • Not worth your money

I signed up, sent a gazillion personalised messages, looking forward to meet all sort of doggos and hoomans. I was so happy to finally have found the app I was looking for. But no one ever got back to me. I had a pic on my profile, a nice description of myself and my hobbies, everything. I’m a 27yo fun and respectful professional, someone reliable. Yet just one guy got back to me in months, and when I went to his to meet the dog I waited 25’ for nothing. If this is the owners’ fault, guys @ borrowmydoggy MAKE the owners reply or do sth because otherwise this is a waste of time and money and I didn’t pay for 0. I do not recommend.
  • App is flaky right now

I notice many of the reviews are about the service. This review is about the app and how it works. I was looking forward to using this side of the platform as opposed to my laptop. However it's flaky as it's shut down on me a few times times since I've used it. Also the profiles aren't fully displayed. I can only see some of what the doggy description. With software updated and improved it would be a joy to use.
  • DONT pay over ITunes- no refund

I have used this service twice as keen to borrow a dog. I have NEVER had a single response back- I message only verified, local and newly set up profiles and did not even correspond with someone to arrange a meet up to see if there was a match for their dog. THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU A REFUND IF YOU HAVE PAID OVER ITUNES. I am now stuck in a useless subscription until Oct 2018. The app crashes if you want to copy and paste a message, and also the search terms are irrelevant as it just goes back to default. Many owners on here are looking for someone to take their dog DURING WORKING HOURS and do not want to pay a sitter. They are not keen for you to borrow in the evenings for walks or a Saturday morning now and again. BE WARNED.
  • Good idea, but the app is flawed.

I like the idea, and I have arranged to meet a few dog owners to see where I can help. So in that sense it has worked. The problem is the app itself. I spent ages going through and selecting "favourites" to contact, but you can't view favourites on the app. So what's the point of doing it really? Also no notifications when I get messages from dog owners. I have checked the notifications and they are set correctly. Looks like something that people have setup, it works ok and they probably make a bit of money out of it but have stopped development.

Its a good idea - but having just pulled my 16 week old puppy dead out of a lake having been walked by a verified member- I strongly recommend you don’t do this. Pay a walker with a reputation that’s verified. Don’t make my mistake

Please don't use this app. I had been thinking about joining for a while, then on my birthday last week, feeling especially lonely, I decided to buy it to try and meet a local dog. After I sent the 12.99 it then asked for my personal information, AFTER payment was taken. I was on a page asking me to email photos of I.D. to be able to proceed... I sent a picture of my driving licence blocking out my face and some other parts, as it said I just needed I prove I live in the house I put as my address. A couple days later (baring in mind payment was taken yet couldn't use the services you pay for!) I was emailed back saying this wasn't good enough, they needed to see the whole thing and have my name match my name on my account. The name on my account is my first name shortened, hell no was I going to be called my full name. I then tried to get a refund but their website said they don't give refunds if bought on the app. I went through apple to get my refund which was accepted at my tax expense :(

4 for idea, 2 for service, 0.5 for the app. Great idea, poor execution. After spending the thick end of £50 quid, as a dog owner, I wasn’t impressed when I found out that borrowers have to pay too. The number of borrowers is limited, and it’s by chance that you’ll find “The One”, but overall it’s a really good idea. The auto-renew function is absolutely disgusting as well.
  • Scam!!

Waste of money. Messaged so many people yet no response whatever. Took the time to update my whole profile and wrote really thoughtful entries to sell myself. Absolute waste of money

I joined borrowmydoggy last week and have already set up to connections with lovely dog owners to help look after their pups. The premium member messaging could be clearer (I didn't know you couldn't message people until you've paid when joining initially) and the app could be a little more detailed/intuitive but I absolutely love the concept and my experience on the whole has been brilliant! I've definitely recommend it from a borrowers perspective :)
