  • Not worth the money

Most of the sounds sound similar to garage bands FREE instruments. Also it’s next to impossible to use this app with garage band without other PAID apps.

Some sounds are good, some are poor. Does not work well as an AU. The packs are poorly bundled so as to make you buy them all. There will be 4/5 good sounds and some superfluous sounds with each pack. Could do with proper orchestral percussion. When it works it's good. Needs favourite sounds folder. Should've been a 40 quid bundle for it all. I've spent about 200.

This has to be the best music app too date. Sound is very good and easy to use in a DAW, in fact there is nothing negative about this app at all. I use the iPad in a Focusrite Docking interface, midi keyboard and expression pedal. Orchestra is easy to use. Well worth the expense.
  • Superior sounds....where's Link?

This thing still blows me away. The only real Gripe i still have is we should be able to tick a box to Hide the ones we don't own, this would make navigating the sounds we do own easier, especially on the iPhone scroll.. This app is driven by expression, velocity and latency. IE, having a nice responsive keyboard hooked up makes All the difference. I've read complaints about poor sound sets and thats not true. The way this app responds to my keyboard is astounding. The euphoria you feel when it all rises is heart melting. Most mistakes people make using this app are poor keyboard choices that aren't responsive enough and using long cables that affect latency. This apps epic and I've cut plenty of stunning tracks with it.

Devs are really milking this app with iap's. If you want a solo cello, fork out £13 for it and get another 20 combo sounds, made up of single Instruments already included in other packs,(harp/string,voice/string etc) Do I really need a 8th variation of a french horn? Please change your pricing model and realise that customer loyalty will wear thin if you keep treating them with no respect. Great sounds, but more then a hint of money grabbing going on here as devs haven't really developed this app in any way...just added sound packs. They are also a bit slow on bug fixes. Crude? very.

I am a composer and have been looking for high quality orchestral samples within my very modest set up. I saw this app come up in lots of online discussions but when I looked into it further and listened to example I was really disappointed and thought it sounded a bit rubbish to be honest. After months of thought I decided to get it and was instantly in love. The sounds are gorgeous and you are able to create some incredibly authentic sounding orchestral music using it. I found that using cathedral reverbs gave the nicest and richest sound but the addition of more abstract effect types were very welcome particularly for those dabbling in video game music. I am so happy with this app and would gladly recommend it. Update: The best sounds in my opinion are the cinematic and expressive orchestras. I have purchased several of the additional sound sets. One sound that blew me away is the solo string sample....worth the price alone. Also the harps, particularly 2 and 3 are amazing. A very happy customer.

Good app with some great sounds. Use it with garageband and works brilliant. In-app purchases are necessary evil these days. Still you can gradually build these up at affordable rate.
  • Good app but feel a little milked by the iap-z

Don't feel each iap adds enough variety to merit its price...(not enough sounds, some too similar, still no individual instruments, still no control over the sounds, other then reverbs) Edit....and the iap's should be cheaper or free for those that have already bought most of them... ie..,more you've invested in the app the cheaper they get. Also, please add a vibraphone or better still make a dedicated vibe app...(?)
