Description

A NEW WAY TO USE INTEGRATED DEVICES The updated Alexa App Smart Home section lets you view the state and control your smart lights, locks and thermostats. When you are on-the go, use the app to quickly check the status of your lock or turn off your lights. You can also navigate to the device’s settings page to rename the device or disable it. The new Multi-Room Music section allows users to designate a group for devices on the same Wi-Fi network. Once created, group names can be used to control music playback. The new Routines section allows users to automate a series of Smart Home and audio actions with one custom command. The new capabilities are available to customers with iPhones on iOS 9.0 or later. CONNECT WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS With the Alexa App, you can call and message Amazon Echo device owners and anyone else with the Alexa App on their phones. When you’re away from home, use the app to make a quick call or send a message to your family’s Echo. Use Drop In to instantly connect with your devices for a call. For example, you can drop in to let the family know it’s time for dinner or check in on the baby’s nursery. ALWAYS READY, CONNECTED, AND FAST For Alexa device owners, the free Amazon Alexa App is a companion to your Alexa device for setup, remote control, and enhanced features. Alexa is always ready to play your favourite music, provide weather and news updates, answer questions, create lists, and much more. Alexa's brain is in the cloud, so she continually learns and adds more functionality over time. The more you use Alexa, the more she adapts to your speech patterns, vocabulary, and personal preferences. HOW IT WORKS Interactions with devices with Alexa are automatically mirrored visually on your Amazon Alexa App, providing more information as you want it. The Amazon Alexa App lets you easily manage your alarms, music, shopping lists, and more -- wherever you are. FAST WI-FI and EASY SET UP Connect to your home's Wi-Fi network using the free Amazon Alexa App, with its simple guided setup. Now you can stream all of your music, listen to radio stations, and have access to news and information, all by voice -- or with the Amazon Alexa App's intuitive interface. Communications features like calling and messaging are only available in the United States, Great Britain, Germany, and Austria

  • Awful app.

The intro video hasn't once played!! I deregistered one device 3 times so far to add my own only for it to still have the same old device registered. I'm following it step by step as instructed. Frustrated!

iPad version a let down compared to the iPhone version. It does not support the chat features.

Alexa is probably the best toy there has ever been. Have a few people round and it becomes the centre of attention. But in serious use it still has a long way to go. Having uploaded my music collection to Amazon music it rarely makes the right choice when requested, and the iPad app is even worse. It often freezes or when you select an artist within the artist tab it switches to song mode and lists the song alphabetically of the entire collection. I have started switching from Sonos to Amazon and invested heavily in several Echo’s as well as Sonos one’s, the sonos app I find to be unintuitive, which is why I wanted to change to Amazon but there is room for much improvement, at least I can play my Sonos music as selected. Amazon Alexa can be so much more, but it needs to work correctly to be any good

I am using an Apple iPod Touch 5th generation and the Alexa app refuses to load onto the screen. Occasionally it will load after a LONG waiting period, but even then it does not function properly. It is not possible to access Lists or Reminders. So all together a useless App. Please Amazon get this app fixed.

I've had my Alexa for almost a year now and it's great. The only negative is the app. It is very slow and is not overly user friendly. I hope that this is being considered and a new dashboard being developed. Thanks
  • Not meeting expectations

Really slow. And most recently the app has completely lost everything only records the requests that have been made on the home page but even the help and feedback section is blank. Add to that Alexa can’t find half the things you request - not living up to expectations.
  • Faulty

It’s kind of like the iTunes for Echo. It does - eventually - what you want, but it’s slow, unreliable and quite badly designed. I have 6 devices, and trying to use the app to start music or change a playlist is painful and generally doesn’t work until I quit the app and open it again. And I might have to do this a few times. Integration with Amazon music is frustratingly poor. I love the Echo’s, but I find the speed, UI and reliability of this app painful.
  • Make it a native app

Please make this a native app. Web based apps or react native just don’t cut it for speed and UI fluidity of native controls Please also support iPhone X. Come on it’s been available for months now
